Phil Kelly

PDP Program Lead

Phil Kelly's coaching journey has taken him across three countries and some of North America's most respected player development environments. Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Phil enjoyed a successful youth playing career before earning a full international scholarship to Lambuth University in the United States, where he studied Sports and Recreation Management. A four-year starter, he was twice named All-Conference, combining high-level performance on the field with a passion for understanding the game beyond it.

Following graduation, Phil transitioned into coaching, beginning as Assistant Coach of the Lambuth University Women's Soccer Team before joining Young Harris College, where he helped guide the men's program to its highest national ranking in school history at the time. From there, he took on leadership roles across the East Coast before relocating to Chicago as Boys Technical Director at Northwind Soccer Club. There, he played a key role in transforming the club into one of the largest and most respected soccer communities in the city before joining the Chicago Fire (MLS) where he further expanded his work in player development.

Most recently, Phil spent five seasons as Performance Lead at Calgary Rangers Soccer Club, helping establish one of Calgary's most competitive player development environments. During his time with the club, numerous players progressed to post-secondary programs across North America, while others earned opportunities within professional club academies in Canada and abroad.

At New Frontier Soccer, Phil brings a wealth of international experience, tactical expertise and a genuine passion for player development. Through a focus on long-term development, high coaching standards and a culture of excellence, he is helping shape the future of both the club and the players who represent it.
