Four New Frontier Players Selected for Calgary Wild Academy
New Frontier Soccer Club is proud to celebrate Jada-Lashay Williams, Harper Marshall, Harlow Simes and Remi Hamilton-Newry who have all been selected for the Calgary Wild FC Academy.
The four players will join the Wild’s full-time, fully funded academy program, an exciting next step in their individual journeys and a special moment for New Frontier.
It also comes at an exciting time for the women’s game in Canada. Professional women’s soccer is now established through the Northern Super League, and five of the league’s six founding clubs have academy programs supporting their professional teams. For young girls growing up playing soccer in Calgary, the pathway and the opportunities ahead are becoming increasingly visible.
A Journey That Started a long time ago!
For Jada, Harper, Harlow and Remi, this opportunity is the latest chapter in a journey that began many years ago.
All four joined New Frontier at U9 or younger and have grown through the club together. They have been part of a special 2012 girls group that became back-to-back Provincial Champions before going on to win the APDL League title in New Frontier’s inaugural APDL season.
Meet the Players
Jada-Lashay Williams – Fullback
Jada is a dynamic fullback who loves joining the play and supporting attacks. A powerful 1v1 player, she has the ability to dominate opponents both with and without the ball.
Harper Marshall – Centre Midfielder
Harper is a relentless, box-running midfielder who influences the game at both ends of the pitch. Her ability to arrive in dangerous areas and contribute goals from midfield saw her finish as the APDL’s top scorer last season.
Harlow Simes – Centre Back
Harlow is a composed and intelligent centre back who is comfortable taking responsibility in possession and helping her team build from the back. She combines that quality on the ball with strong defensive instincts and an ability to compete and defend 1v1.
Remi Hamilton-Newry – Wide Forward
Remi is an exciting attacking player who can create genuine “wow” moments through clever and creative individual play. She can beat players, create something from nothing and deliver an exceptional final ball.
Each has developed their own identity as a player, but they share the qualities that have helped bring them to this point: competitiveness, commitment and a desire to keep getting better.

“I also want to recognize their families and teammates. There are so many people behind a young player's development, and these girls have been surrounded by families who have supported them and teammates who have pushed them every day.
“As a club, we could not be more supportive of our players progressing into full-time professional academy environments. This is exactly what we want. Our responsibility is to help players become the best versions of themselves and, when opportunities like this arrive, prepare them to step forward and embrace them.
